Canada targets Province Nominated Candidates in its Express Entry Draws.

The Express Entry draw on December 10 is the seventh in a row to focus on Provincial Nominee Program candidates.

In the most recent draw, the government of Canada invited 1,032 individuals from the federal Express Entry pool to apply for permanent residence in Canada. For an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the draw, a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 698 was required.

In 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a total of 113,685 ITAs, which is a new high.

Since the COVID-19 began with travel limitations, Canada has primarily held program-specific drawings, alternating between PNP and CEC-specific draws. Since mid-September, however, Express Entry invitation rounds have only been open to PNP candidates. On September 14, 2021, the last CEC-specific draw was performed.

Concerning Express Entry

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), and the Canadian Experience Class all use the Express Entry system to manage applications for those seeking permanent residence (PR) through Canada's three main economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Candidates must first create an Express Entry profile before receiving a CRS score. Age, education, work experience, language competence, and other human capital considerations all contribute to this score. CRS points can be awarded to a single person or a couple if they are submitting an application together.

PNPs, on the other hand, are run by provinces and territories and allow them to propose persons with the necessary skills, education, and job experience to contribute to their respective economies. Each province and territory customises their PNP "streams" to meet their specific needs. Streams associated with the federal Express Entry system exist in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan. This implies the province can search the Express Entry pool for people who fulfill a set of criteria and have expressed an interest in living on its land.

Candidates that receive a provincial nomination receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points immediately.

The Express Entry pool's top prospects are then asked to apply for permanent residence in Express Entry drawings.

After receiving an invitation to apply for Canada PR, an applicant must submit their application to IRCC, which will make the final decision. Most PR applications will be processed within six months in Canada.
