Express Entry: Canada invites 2,000 applicants and reduces the CRS.

The IRCC organizes its Third consecutive all-program draw after an 18-month break. Canada encouraged 2,000 Express Entry applicants to submit applications for Canadian permanent residence on August 3. One of the main ways that Canada welcomes visitors is through Canada Express Entry. Through Express Entry, Canada is on schedule to accept 55,900 immigrants in 2022; by 2024, the goal will rise to 111,500.

Invitations were extended to applicants having a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 542. Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) might be invited as no program was mentioned for this draw.

The minimum cut-off score for the last all-program draw on July 20th was 542, while the CRS requirement for the current draw is 9 points lower. In addition, Canada issued 250 more invitations in this round than in the 1,750 invitations given in the previous round.

On January 6th, 2022, the tie-breaking policy is set to take effect.

This is the third Express Entry draw since December 2020.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) only welcomed applicants qualified for immigration through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Provincial Nominee Program after an 18-month break (PNP).

Regardless of the program, an applicant is eligible for, IRCC takes into account their CRS when conducting an all-program Express Entry draw. Most Express Entry draws before the pandemic was not program-specific, thus applicants who satisfied the minimum CRS for any Express Entry program might obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Every two weeks between January 2021 and September 2021, IRCC held PNP and CEC draws. The IRCC stopped inviting CEC candidates after September 21, 2021, as the anticipated application processing durations were longer than the required six months.

All-program draws are once again being held by the IRCC, although more modifications to the Express Entry system are in the works. Early 2023 will see the implementation of the changes proposed in the recently enacted Bill C-19. Following implementation, IRCC will be able to conduct targeted draws in which Canada Express Entry applicants would be selected based on a particular economic objective. Depending on the demands of the labour market, applicants may be invited based on their profession, educational background, language proficiency, or other characteristics.

What does Express Entry actually do?

The Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program applications are handled through Express Entry. In the Express Entry pool, candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) are already qualified for at least one of these programs.

Canada Express Entry uses a point-based approach called the Comprehensive Ranking System to rate applicant profiles. Candidates who get an Invitation to Apply may submit Canada permanent residence application.

Officers of the IRCC examine applications and decide after doing so. A request for biometrics will be made, and further paperwork or an interview may also be necessary.

A Confirmation of permanent Residence(COPR) is sent to the applicant once their application is accepted. To finish the landing procedure and become a permanent resident of Canada is the last stage.
