How Long Does an Express Entry to Canada Take

Canada Express Entry is one of the fastest PR programs for permanent residency so much so that an applicant can receive Canada PR in 6 months or less. Though, the actual Canada PR processing time might vary according to the individual application status and different factors like a total number of visa application received by the department, several available visa in the migration programs, complete document checklist submission and any other important query raised by the department.
Let us have a look at the step by step duration of the Canada Express Entry Process:
  • Language Assessment test results take around 15-20 days to come out after you have taken the test
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) processing time takes around 35-40 days. A positive ECA test report is needed to process further for Canada PR
  • Creating Express Entry profile has no timeline and thus, you can take as much time as you want inputting information related to age, educational qualification, work experience, language ability, and adaptability factors. You need 67 immigration points out of 100 in this stage. Well, as mentioned there is no processing time but your profile is valid for one year only.
  • The eligible applicants are then ranked according to their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. If you have high CRS score you might get ITA in the next 2-3 rounds otherwise wait for the CRS cut-off to drop. Here also there is no processing time as such
  • The selected applicants who get an ITA have 60 days time period to revert with their application along with supporting documents
  • Wait for another 2-3 months to get Canada PR approved
