The Australian state of Canberra conducted new invitation draw for the year 2019 on 3rd January where the state issued total 205 invitations to the applicants applying for Canberra Skilled Nomination Program.
The invitation was given through new expression of interest called ‘Canberra Matrix’ with the score range of 70 to 115. This matrix is different from Australian Department of Home Affairs Expression of Interest.
The selected candidates were invited by Canberra who has scored at least 20 points on the ACT parameters along with fulfilling the basic point eligibility requirements of Australia PR.
The applicants applying for ACT must have a strong presence in the territory before actually applying for the nomination programs. The 20 point factors are calculated for study in Canberra or duration of stay, language ability skills and partner assessment etc. The applicants will receive invitation on the bases of these points. The highest ranking applicant will be invited to apply.

The process of applying for ACT nomination is as follows:
- The applicants applying must indicate their interest by completing the Canberra Matrix.
- The Canberra Matrix points are calculated for:
- Length of residence in Canberra
- English Language Proficiency
- Partner English Language Proficiency
- Nominated Occupation
- Length of current employment in Canberra
- Spouse/partner employment in Canberra
- ACT employment type
- Education
- The Canberra Matrix is remained valid for 6 months
Also, the next Expression of Interest draw for Canberra Nomination Program is stated to be released on 15th January, 2019. The draws are conducted after every 15 days.
