The province of British Columbia gave 35 invitations to the migrants under tech-pilot occupations. The draw took place on 9th January, 2019.
The invitations were issued to those applicants of BC PNP who already have a valid job offer in one of the tech pilot programs which lists 32 key technology occupations.
The Tech Pilot program came into force in 2017 to help support British Columbia’s technology sector by attracting foreign tech workers to the province. The technology sector is a major driver of economic growth in the province with tech employment at its highest level ever recorded.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended till June 2019 to provide employers with a degree of stability for planning their future staffing needs.
The invitations were awarded to the applicants who already have a valid job offer in one of the tech pilot programs which has 29 key tech occupations.
The minimum score for each category in the January 9, 2019 draw is as follows:
- EEBC- Skilled Worker got the invitation with 85 minimum points
- EEBC-International Graduate got the invitation with 95 minimum points
- SI-Skilled Workers got the invitation with 85 minimum points. SI-International Graduate got the invitation with 95 minimum points.
