British Columbia issued the invitation for Tech and healthcare workers for certain NOCs

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its weekly round draw on May 10, 2022. The subcategories are Skilled Worker International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled all received invitations to the draw.

In the general draw, 126 British Columbia immigrants were encouraged to apply for a provincial nomination, which included a tech category. While the targeted NOC for Childcare: Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 4214) received 20 invitations, Healthcare professionals also received 20, and other essential Health care assistants (NOC 3413) received some less than 5.

The BC PNP will periodically invite people who are in the registration pool to apply for the program. The information provided in registrations is used to generate ITAs. Based on one or more of the following characteristics, the information provided in the registrations will be used to rank, select, and invite candidates who are most likely to meet B.C.'s economic and labor market needs:

  1. Education – level and field of study, as well as the location of completion
  2. Language abilities
  3. Occupation
  4. Work experience duration and skill level
  5. Job offer wage and/or skill level
  6. Intention to live, work, and settle in a particular area


Strategic priorities are factors that address specific labor market needs in British Columbia or that support government pilot projects and initiatives. Invitations can be sent to specific people. Invitations may be customized to support B.C. government priorities such as assisting specific business sectors, encouraging regional immigration, facilitating strategic pilot projects, and ensuring the program's integrity.

Candidates who are most likely to meet the economic and labor market needs of British Columbia will be ranked, selected, and invited based on the information provided in their registrations. Candidates with scores ranging from 20 to 126 received invitations depending on the program for which they were eligible. Candidates in the targeted occupation groups had to score at least 62-85 minimum score depending on the category.

So this is fantastic news for tech and healthcare workers who are interested in Canada PR, specifically BC PNP, as they have just launched an invitation for new tech immigration and other above-mentioned NOC on May 10th, 2022! This program will complement the existing streams for skilled workers, experienced professionals, and entrepreneurs, but it will specifically target foreign tech workers.
