Atlantic Provinces Giving More Jobs to International Workers

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) was launched two years ago with an aim to provide matching international workers with Canadian jobs. The programs include four Atlantic Provinces namely Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, and Prince Edward Island (PEI).

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program has proven to be successful way of recruiting foreign workers to fill the Canadian job market. The successful migrants coming through AIP are paired with Canadian employer to take full-time job in Atlantic Canada. The immigrants are given support through the immigration process and their employers in return assist them for Canadian settlement. 

The AIP success becomes clear when the government increased the program’s quota by creating space for an additional 500 workers and their families to take on jobs in the Atlantic region. The program has proven to be a successful model for bringing new immigrants to Canada with 100% certainty of employment. The AIP is an employer-driven immigration program that allows an applicant to apply directly to a designated employer through AIP. The candidates who receives offer of employment can then begin an application with AIP. The candidates then can become permanent resident through AIP, with a job lined up and a personalized settlement plan for themselves and their family.

Also, employers hiring applicants through AIP do not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire foreign workers. Thus, AIP is much easier platform for the migrants to get hired by the Canadian employers.

There are many PR options specifically for skilled workers hoping to start a new life in Canada. the programs include Express Entry System, The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) is the largest immigration programs for international skilled workers.
