Canada’s labour negotiations are on strike
and it may further escalate resulting in processing delays for Canadian
immigration applications mailed within Canada.
The situation is set to further deteriorate
as more members of the Canadian Union Postal workers voted overpoweringly in
favour of strike action that could see them off the job before month end.
Thus, in such a scenario the Immigration,
Refugees and Citizenship Canada advises individuals planning to travel to
Canada of submitting an application (including passport or other travel
document) to apply as soon as possible.
The 60 day conciliation period between
Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) ended on September
5, 2018.
CUPW said that 93.8 percent of urban letter
and parcel carriers and 95.9 percent of rural and suburban members
provisionally signaled their willingness to walk off the job.
If no conclusion and agreements set up by 26th
September, there could be a legal lockout leading to the delayed processing
times for Canada PR application. Visit Source Link https://bit.ly/2Olx8Ao for more details.
