Nova Scotia Invites Skilled Migrants Through New Priority Stream

The province of Nova Scotia announced the launch of a new stream under Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP. The new stream, Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream on August 8, 18 will issue invitations to the Express Entry applicants who meet the provincial labour market needs having working experience as early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214). The other NOCs will also be included in this stream in near future.

The Nova Scotia government announced that the eligible applicants with a minimum of two years of working experience as childhood educators and assistants would be invited to apply for a provincial nomination. Additionally, the applicants considering for nomination through labour market stream would require meeting the minimum criteria under:

  •  Letter of Interest from NSOI
  • Additional draw-specific eligibility criteria
  • Work Experience
  • Settlement Funds
  • Immigration Status

This stream is fairly new stream of NSNP. The applicants with active express entry profile are eligible. Nova Scotia government will see the express entry profile of the applicants and issue letters of Interest (LOI) to the express entry applicants. LOIs will be directly issued to a person’s Express Entry account.

The stream is especially designed to help Nova Scotia select immigrants with specific types of work experience in priority sectors of the province. For now, it will only target early childhood educators but future draws may target other occupations.

The New Labour Market Priorities Stream is a flexible and innovative approach to addressing market demands by proactively seeking skilled professionals in specific sectors where there are recognized needs,” the province said in a news release. Source Link
