GSM (General Skilled Migration Program) for Australian Immigration

To admit immigrants into Australia, the nation has devised a point-based immigration system. As a result, in order to be eligible for migration to Australia, you must score well on the point system.

To qualify for the above point-tested GSM visa categories, you must have a minimum of 65 points based on variables such as age, education, English proficiency, work experience, and others. A higher point score, on the other hand, might improve your chances of being chosen. Australia holds periodic invitation rounds to give ITAs (Invitation to Apply) for visas to individuals who get a high point score based on the conditions listed below.

Factors to Consider When Migrating to Australia as a Skilled Worker

To be eligible for GSM category visas, i.e. Subclass 189/190/491, you must score 65 points out of 100 on the following factors:

Age

You must be under the age of 45. If you're between the ages of 18 and 39, you'll gain the most points (25-30).

To gain excellent points on the Australia immigration points table, you must have at least a bachelor's degree.

Experiential Learning

To obtain immigration points, you must have at least three years of job experience.

Proficiency in English

English proficiency is required. You must submit a valid language exam result, such as IELTS (Partner Skills.)

Which visa program is best for me if I want to come to Australia?

As a skilled worker, you can apply for one of Australia's General Skilled Migration (GSM) program's temporary or permanent skilled visa categories. Aside from that, the Australian government offers a variety of visa categories based on the kind of immigration, such as study visas, visit visas, spouse visas, parent visas, and so on.

Why Should You Move to Australia?

Overview of Skilled Migration in General

Australia's General Qualified Migration Program (GSM) is a point-based immigration program that allows skilled and talented persons from across the world to apply for a temporary or a permanent skilled visa in the country.

The GSM has three popular and point-tested visa categories, namely:

• Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189

• Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190

• Skilled Work Regional Visa (Provisional) Subclass 491

The first two on the list are permanent visas, while the third (Subclass 491) is a five-year temporary visa issued by Australia's Department of Home Affairs. If you wish to apply for any of the following visa categories, you must first ensure that you have a decent point score (at least 65 out of 100) based on several key profile elements. Age, education, English language competence, work experience, and other criteria are among them.

For each immigration category, Australia maintains a Skilled Occupation List (SOL). As a result, you should double-check if your occupation is mentioned in the appropriate SOL before applying. You must also determine whether you match the eligibility point's requirements. Then, under the online Skill Select system, you may submit your Expression of Interest (EOI). If your profile is chosen, you will get an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for a visa from Australia's Department of Home Affairs.

How to Apply for Australia Immigration in Steps?
