What is the Human Capital Stream in Ontario and how does it work?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Human Capital Stream houses a number of immigration options, including the Human Capital Priorities and French-Speaking streams.

Both streams use the Express Entry system to find candidates who can help the province meet its labour market or demographic needs.

Throughout the year, the streams have draws in which they target a CRS range and/or a group of occupational codes and ask people to apply for the chance to be nominated for permanent residence in Canada.

Candidates applying through the Human Capital Priorities or French-speaking streams must have an active Express Entry profile and meet draw-specific criteria in addition to stream-specific criteria.

Candidates gain an additional 600 points toward their CRS score if they are nominated by Ontario, thereby assuring an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
